Access

MIE Access is here to provide support and services to potential and current students affected by social and economic challenges. Access can help current students with financial concerns, campus accessibility, guidance to students and other support services.  

Access welcomes queries from prospective students who may be interested in HEAR/DARE and Mature entry routes.

Careers Advisor

The role of MIE’s Career Advisor is to provide impartial careers and education information, one-to-one guidance and group guidance, which help you to make informed educational, career and life choices. 

Choosing the right career path is one of the most important decisions you will ever make. The career exploration and development processes will help you to gain greater self-awareness of your interests, aptitudes, values and motivation. 

The MIE Career Advisor can provide you with the professional support required to successfully navigate career and educational transitions. The service is tailored to meet the unique needs of each MIE student and queries from prospective MIE students are also welcomed.

Chaplaincy

The role of MIE's Chaplaincy team is to provide a supportive dynamic environment that fosters a spirit of inclusiveness on campus; valuing spirituality and cultural diversity and offering a space to live and reflect on one’s faith or worldview. The service networks with other agencies which promote holistic development and a sense of justice for all. Chaplaincy seeks to be a place of welcome and hospitality for all members of the MIE community.  

The Chaplaincy vision is firmly rooted in the values of Blessed Edmund Rice, which is intrinsically linked to MIE’s mission statement - this vision of education is based on compassion, presence, and liberation.  

The chaplain is available to meet and assist students on an individual basis to offer personal support particularly when students are experiencing difficulties or have suffered a loss. 

To those who seek it the chaplain also offers pastoral guidance and spiritual accompaniment on a one-to-one basis and through a programme of faith initiatives which are offered throughout the college year.

Counselling

Counselling provides you time and space to explore issues that are of concern. Counsellors are specially trained to listen attentively and to offer a supportive, confidential, and non-judgmental environment where you can engage in a process of self-reflection and   discovery with a focus on personal growth, mental health, and wellbeing.

Disability

The aim of the MIE Disability Service is to provide a student-centred multi-disciplinary service that empowers and enables students to reach their full potential in an inclusive learning environment. 

MIE supports students entering via the DARE scheme and those who enter education via different routes. Supports include need assessments, occupational therapy support, academic support as well as advice on assistive technology.

MIE Medical Service

Fairview Medical Centre provides healthcare to all registered MIE students, including doctor and nurse appointments, blood tests, dressings, injections, asthma and women's health services.

To register with the Fairview Medical Centre, please complete the New Patient Registration form.
